United Service FAQs

The Purpose
We believe God is calling us to be united in worship and in serving each other. We are planning to combine our 2 services to create a new 11 am United service. Living Faith’s vision says we are a multi-generational church. We have seen the benefits of this in our combined services and we would like to make this our regular experience. We ask as a leadership that you as our church family would join in prayer with us for the changes and the preparation for where God wants to take Living Faith.
When: Sundays at 11am
Tea and coffee: available from 10:30am
Estimated finish: 12:30pm
8:30am – music practice
9:30am – intercessory prayer
9:45am – hospitality team set up
9:50am – Service Coordinator
10:00am – all-in prayer for Sunday volunteers
10:15am – counting, technology access for speakers and hosts, welcome team and usher setup
The board understands change can be hard and this is one of the reasons why a significant amount of time has been allowed to adapt to the change. Many LF members may remember when we merged the 8:30am and 10:30am morning services into the current 10 am service. That change most likely came with its challenges. but it worked and two services were successfully united. The board believes that God has called us to create a new level of unity with a new service at a new time. Having the service at 11am allows for catchups over coffee before the service and a smooth transition to lunch afterwards.
Our desire is to serve lunch on special occasions at Living Faith. Stay tuned for more information.
In the meantime, we are encouraging you to consider ‘how can I exercise hospitality?’ Inviting others out or over to your house afterwards. It can even be a drive to the beach, weather permitting. It is great to see this is already a great part of our LF culture, and we look forward to continuing to do this together.
Children are an important part of the life of LF, and we love having them as part of our services. Children will continue to begin the Sunday Service worshipping with their parents and then leave with their teachers during announcements. We love having children participate in our services in this way!
Yes! Children will be offered a healthy, allergy-safe snack to keep them energised – without spoiling their lunchtime appetites.
Possibly! We hope that the United Service will attract more children and volunteers, which will make this easier to do. We’ll make changes as our congregation grows.
You may have noticed that over the last six months, we have adjusted both services to the same sound and lighting levels. So, this will not change. We have diligently set a standard and the worship team has been monitoring this and will continue to do so. However, you can expect a richer sound, with more voices, as we come together in worship.
Along with the fruit of our church-wide prayer time at the start of the year, this is one of the aspects of the 4pm service that has been purposeful in creating unity in the team and in preparing hearts to serve God and his people.
We cannot do this without Him and to give time and space to invite Him into our services is important to their success.
Yes, this will occur weekly from 9:30am in the office building.
We’ll have a combined prayer meeting for all volunteers at 10am, so we will have a hard finish time, rather than being able to go past 9:30 am as we usually do.
If the new timing poses challenges, please chat with your department leader about the best approach for you.
Please complete this form and we will respond to you in five business days.
Yes the leadership believes they heard clearly from God to begin the 4pm service. It was a great investment that we have seen and will continue to see the fruit from.
In the same way, The leadership now believe this is a new season and God is positioning us for something new which will also bring it’s own fruit.
